The Criterion Collection originally released AMARCORD on DVD in 1998. In 2006, Criterion released a DVD with a high-definition transfer and digital restoration of a superior film element, which was also used for the 2011 Blu-ray edition. This restoration demonstration, made in 2006, was updated with high-definition footage for the Blu-ray edition.
